Winter holiday

Ramsau am Dachstein is a great location for a winter holiday!

Cross country skiing

Apartment Coley is directly opposite the Langlauf Stadium, for easy access to the cross-country pistes – both skating and classic.

Ramsau is a world-class destination, with 220km of piste, including 13 circular tours. The world’s best Nordic skiers and biathletes come to Ramsau in autumn to train for the World Cup season.

Alpine skiing

The gentle slopes in Ramsau are ideal for young families and learners. The Rittisberg mountain, with chair lift and drag lift, is more challenging, with blue and red runs, plus one black piste.

Intermediate and advanced skiers will head to the 4 connected mountains in the Schladming area (part of the Ski Amade): Planai, Hauser Kaibling, Hochwurzen and Reiteralm (130km piste, 45 lifts, 82 slopes including fun slopes and boarder parks). The Ski Amade lift pass covers a total of 28 resorts and 760km, for anyone who wants to explore even further.

There are also many opportunities for ski-touring in the Schladming-Dachstein region, as well as challenging ski-routes for advanced skiers.

Winter walking and snow-shoeing

The Ramsau plateau has 70km of prepared winter walking trails, with many huts offering refreshment.

Snow-shoe routes are signposted, or you could join a guided snow-shoe tour.

More winter activites

Tobogganing is a fun activity for all the family. There is a daytime route in Ramsau, from the Dachstein cable car (Gasthof Hunerkogel), down to the Zauberlift (Gasthof Turlsptiz). The Rittisberg mountain has floodlit night-tobogganing on its 3.5km route. On the Hochwurzen mountain, accessed from Schladming Rohrmoos, there is a 7km toboggan run, both for daytime and in the evening, when it is floodlit.

The new craze in Ramsau is fat-bikes, bikes with very wide balloon tyres which are stable on snow. Or you could enjoy a ride around the Ramsau plateau on a horse-drawn sled.
